The women we meet street sex-working in Bristol face profound challenges. They also possess extraordinary strength, resilience and hope.
Recent work includes: strengthening our partnership working with the Police, SafeLink and Horizons to enable more coordinated and consistent support for women. The Bridging Gaps group has continued to embed lived experience within service delivery and influencing work, with women actively shaping how services respond to their experiences.
Recent work includes: commissioning external support to develop a clearer theory of change and outcomes framework.
Recent work includes: implementing an annual Equalities Action Plan, introducing EDI Champion roles, and improving support for staff working with high-risk cases.
Recent work includes: contributing to the development of a Health Needs Assessment of Sex Workers in Bristol and building understanding of a whole systems approach to street sex work, including learning from national models and strengthening relationships with local partners.
"As we look ahead, we remain committed to standing alongside women, amplifying their voices and building a future in which every woman is safe, feels loved and has the opportunity to thrive."
- Jenny Riley (CEO) & Rachel Clark (Chair of Trustees)
Strengthen and expand support for women: maximise engagement across outreach, the One25 hub and casework, reducing the number of women only accessing outreach support.
Develop pathways to recovery and move-on: introduce a dedicated Move-On Caseworker to support women further along in their recovery.
Embed lived experience in shaping services and strategy: develop and implement a coproduction strategy, empowering women with lived experience to shape services, governance and systems change activity.
Strengthen evidence and impact: develop a stronger approach to impact measurement, including building evidence of women’s journeys, outcomes and the barriers they face in accessing external services.
Expand influence on systems and services: build on the Women’s Rough Sleeping Census and partnership work with police to advocate for gender- and trauma-informed approaches.
Develop our people and inclusive culture: continue delivery of our values, trauma-informed and EDI action plans.
Explore housing provision: begin scoping the potential for developing a dedicated housing offer delivered by
One25, tailored to meet the needs of women who street sex work.
