Safe horizons: a story from drop-in

AR – Drop-in

Moira is One25’s Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Adviser. She explains how drop-in is a life-saver for the women we support:

“Jo had tried to leave town to escape a violent ex- and get off drugs but the difficult and complicated system meant she’d been evicted from her new refuge. She was back in Bristol, at serious risk.

“She was frustrated. How could it be so difficult? But Jo was determined to make this work. From drop-in we were able to arrange a script (prescribed drugs substitute) and another refuge for her to go to that night.

“The women we meet have complex needs in a complicated world. Our love and support can be their first step to self-esteem and a new life. It takes huge bravery but we’re with them every step of the way.”
