Is the third Monday in January really the most ‘depressing day of the year’? Back in 2004 it was labelled Blue Monday by a travel company looking to promote its winter deals.
All of the women we work with have experienced trauma – many during childhood or young adulthood. Last year, 85% were living with significant mental health needs. 53% were homeless and 74% had experienced increased poverty due to rising living costs.
Alana visited our health hub and told us:
"I am so grateful you are here.
- Alana
Without this space I would feel so alone."
Whatever they’re facing, we’re here for women day and night; 7 days a week.
They can access flexible healthcare in our health hub or meet with our caseworkers to get specialist support – from making a housing application to court proceedings against a violent partner. On dark nights, women who are street sex-working can step onto our outreach van and eat, receive first aid or simply take a moment to rest.
