Hub Volunteer

This is an exciting opportunity to volunteer in the One25 Hub.

The One25 Hub provides access to a safe space for women who street sex work.
On Monday and Wednesday the women can see a specialist nurse, sexual health nurse, and GP.
On Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Friday women can also access the things they need like clothing and hot food.

Hub volunteer: Role Description

We are looking for volunteers to join our team on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 12pm to 4pm to support in the running One25’s Hub.
We are looking for 1 or 2 volunteers each day to support One25 staff manage the Hub space.

Volunteers will welcome women with a warm hello and a hot drink. Volunteers will also provide emotional support to women while also helping them access items such as sanitary products, condoms, personal alarms, takeaway food bags, hot food and clothing.

Commitments needed:
2 weekdays per month on either a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday from 12-4pm
To complete a Volunteer Induction, Safeguarding and Boundaries training
To complete the Volunteer Experience survey every 6 months
Able to travel to and from St Pauls, Bristol.
Attend probation review after 10 shifts and if requested external support (which we would fund).

Tasks will involve:

  • Cleaning and tidying the space
  • Attending briefings and debriefings
  • Welcoming women into the space
  • Serving food bags and drinks to women
  • Supporting the women use the facilities in the space such as the phone, computer or clothes rack.
  • Having client-led conversations with women
  • Take instructions from the Hub support workers
  • Communicating to staff any safeguarding concerns you have about the women
  • Being clear and firm with women around boundaries and hub rules.

Volunteers are expected to declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may affect their role with One25. This could include a professional relationship with someone who accesses One25 services. If you are unsure whether something constitutes a conflict of interest please get in touch and we will discuss it with you.

Occupational Requirement
This post is open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
Following the 2025 Supreme Court judgment, this part of the Equality Act now means we can only consider applications from women who were assigned female at birth for this role. We welcome applicants to get in touch with us if they’d like to discuss this further.

Basic DBS disclosure will be required. 

Timeline:
Applications being received until: Weds 16th of September
Interviews to take place on either: 22nd of September or 25th of September – preferably in the morning
Induction: Wednesday 30th of Sept 9 am to 12.30 at One25 – if unable to please wait till the next round
