One25 Trustees volunteer information

board of trustees

One25 is a small charity with a big ambition to help women build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction. You could be a Trustee and play a pivotal role helping us reach some Bristol’s most marginalised women to support them to move from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community.

Our Board of Trustees serves as the governing body to everything One25 does. As a trustee, you will have responsibility for shaping One25, ensuring that we are well run and reach our goals for the benefit of the women who we support.

What does it involve?

Our Board meets quarterly and there are two subcommittees which meet once a quarter between Board meetings.

Bring a trustee means you will discuss and make decisions on One25 activities, challenge any decisions that you feel do not meet our best interests and attend events and activities as regularly as possible.

What kind of person we need

We ask our trustees to:

  • discuss and make decisions on One25 activities at the quarterly Board meeting
  • properly reviewing reports and other documents sent to them before the Board meetings
  • have strategic vision and good, independent judgement
  • think creatively and speak their mind
  • embrace their legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
  • work well as a member of a team

One25 will work with you to provide induction information and training to meet the responsibilities of your role, as well as sharing regular updates about our work and inviting you along to events.

We are currently recruiting new trustees to the board. For more information or to apply, click here.

For further information or an informal discussion please contact One25’s company secretary Pat Douglas on pat.douglas@one25.org.uk or 0117 909 4387.
