Our daytime health hub offers vital healthcare for women who are street sex-working and might otherwise go without support.
Most of the women we meet have significant physical and mental health needs. On top of these challenges, they face difficulties getting support in traditional healthcare settings, confronted with stigma, inflexible appointments and a lack of awareness about trauma and the impact it has on their everyday lives.
Health hub offers relaxed and flexible healthcare in a community setting, delivered by professionals that women know and trust. As well as seeing a GP, sexual health nurse and specialist prescribing nurse, women can have a hot meal and a shower, sit down with a book, movie or craft project, and rest, socialise and seek support from our dedicated team of caseworkers and volunteers.
So what’s changing?
We’re excited to announce that we’re increasing the number of days that health hub is open! In addition to our regular Monday to Wednesday opening, women can also visit on Friday afternoons.
Women have been telling us that they’d like health hub to be open more often, so we’re delighted to be able to offer an additional day of support, particularly before the weekend.
And as of summer 2026, health hub will be known as the One25 hub!
Women have told us that the name ‘health hub’ doesn’t reflect the range of services that are available.
They also told us the name could be off-putting for women who’ve had negative experiences of healthcare – leading them to think it’s primarily a medical space.
We hope the new name will encourage more women to visit, particularly women who would like support but aren’t ready to access formal healthcare. When they are ready, they’ll be in the right place: with brilliant clinicians who can offer trauma-informed care.
Removing ‘health’ from the name doesn’t mean our commitment to women’s health has wavered: it’s as strong as ever.
This change recognises that a subtle change in the way we talk about our services could make a big difference for women who are already facing barriers to help.
We believe that the women we support should shape the care they receive. Listening to their lived experiences and responding to what they tell us are essential.
Tonight, women in Bristol will be street sex-working to survive – women like Kourtney and Rachel.
Your donation will help them be safer and healthier, as they take the first step in a journey towards healing and independence.
"I don't feel safe anywhere, but I feel safe here."
- Kourtney
"I enjoy coming to the hub and [my caseworker] is so supportive, helping and trusted. I wouldn't change her for the world."
- Rachel
£12 could provide food safety training for a volunteer cook, so they can prepare delicious hot meals for women who may not otherwise eat.
£102 could provide wellbeing activities in health hub for a month, offering space for women to be creative and focus on their mental health.
Thank you.
