You can donate to charity through payroll giving if you pay UK tax through PAYE (Pay As You Earn). Your donation will be taken from your pay before Income Tax has been calculated and applied.
Deducting a donation at this point means you’ll benefit from tax relief: there is less pay for you to be taxed on so you’ll pay less income tax. (Which? has a helpful guide to tax relief here).
If you are a basic-rate taxpayer and you give £10 a month to One25, the actual cost to you is only £8 from your take-home (after tax) pay. If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer, the cost to you is even lower. You’ll be paying less to help us do more!
One25 will still receive the full £10 value of your donation, including the £2 that the Inland Revenue would otherwise have kept as tax.
We know that healing from traumatic experiences rarely happens overnight: by making a regular donation, you make sure that One25 can continue to support brave women as they move towards safety and independence.
Check with your employer to see if they already have a payroll giving scheme in place. They might already be registered with an agency that processes payroll donations, such as
If they don’t have a payroll giving scheme, you can encourage them to set one up! Send them a link to this page or ask them to get in touch with us if they have any questions: 0117 909 8832 or rachel.clarke@one25.org.uk
"When my One25 worker came into my life, it was like a hand through the clouds saying ‘just hold on, you’re not alone…we’ll walk through this together.’"
