BBC’s Rachel Stonehouse talks to One25 about life in lockdown and the need to continue meeting women in crisis, trapped in sex work on Bristol’s streets.
Chloe and Lizzy (who in normal times work at Peony and Pause) explain how they’ve made up activity packs for isolated women. True to One25’s ethos, they offer love and practical support.
We believe we are an essential service. Our ethos has always been to walk with women and meet them at every stage in their journeys to recovery. We do not want to close our doors to them now at a time of great need.
The women we work with can be highly vulnerable and often have no-one and nothing else. So I want to try and keep frontline services running if at all possible. We want women to feel supported and not ostracised, to take measures to keep them safe from infection and safe from infecting others who are vulnerable.
