It’s been the biggest secret we’ve ever had to keep! But finally we can share our exciting news… we had a Royal visit today!
Earlier this afternoon we were delighted to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to our centre today. The visit was kept under wraps in order to protect the women who use our vital drop-in service and ensure that they can continue to get the help that they need.
The Duke and Duchess made it through the snow to meet staff and volunteers, have a tour around the outreach van and hear about the difference we make to women’s lives. There were many highlights of the visit, including Meghan asking to write messages on the bananas lined up to go into tonight’s food bags. She wrote: “You are loved. You are brave. You are special. You are strong.”
Anna Smith, CEO of One25 says:
“We‘re thrilled that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to visit One25 today. The women we support are often hidden from society and this visit shines a light on the enormous challenges they face and the incredible strength they have. We hope that, as a result, more people will choose to support our work and help more women to start the journey to build new, independent lives.”
Welcome to you if you’ve heard about One25 because of the incredibly exciting #RoyalVisitBristol and you’re visiting our website for the first time. One25 only exists because of the incredible supporters who give their time, skills and money to make this work possible. It costs around £1.2million to keep the charity’s doors open and we appeal to anyone who would like to get involved to please join us.
