One25 is a Bristol charity for women moving from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community. It is a highly respected charity working with some of the most marginalised women to help them to heal and thrive.
Are you passionate about supporting some of Bristol’s most marginalised women?
We are currently recruiting for 2 new staff members to join the team as Weekend Van Outreach workers created in response to One25’s 3 month weekend outreach pilot. The weekend van outreach workers will go out on the van to provide outreach support to street sex-working women. The weekend van outreach workers will be a members of staff acting as the Team Leader on the Saturday and Sunday shifts during the 7 night van pilot. On alternate weeks, the van outreach worker will be on-call instead of on the van (further details below). The weekend van outreach worker needs to be a “gentle leader” and is responsible for keeping One25’s volunteers and service users safe, following One25s policies and guidance, liaising with the police, and organizing and supporting the other volunteers on the team. They will take the lead deciding on when, where and for how long the van will stop, and manage any difficult situations that may arise. They will also ensure accurate outreach records are kept. As this is a pilot project, the weekend van outreach workers will review and analyse the impact of the pilot.
We welcome applications from both those who do and do not have lived experience of sex-work. We particularly encourage applicants from ethnic minorities as these groups are underrepresented in our workforce.
It is an Occupational Requirement that applications for this post are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010. Enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.
